Brian, a practising artist and tutor, resident in
Emu
Park
, has exhibited paintings
and drawings in Brisbane,
Sydney
and various venues in
Central Queensland
for a period in excess of thirty years. His favoured painting
medium is watercolour though he works also in pastel and in
acrylic. As an enthusiastic
drawer, Brian enjoys using all media but, in particular, ink.
Brian's
favoured style is best described as impressionistic and follows in
the traditions of the English school which endeavours to draw on
the strengths of the watercolour medium, its transparency and its
immediacy. He aims to
depict his subject in a free and fresh manner with a transparent
and simple palette.
Exhibitions:
Over the past twenty years Brian has participated in sixteen one
man exhibitions in such venues as: Gallery of the Royal Queensland
Art Society, Brisbane; Gallery "7" at the Reid Cultural
Centre, Rockhampton; and the Mill Gallery, Yeppoon. This was in
addition to group exhibitions at the
Central
Queensland
University
