 The Art of Vera Fennell

Born in Czechoslovakia and raised in post-war Austria, Vera settled permanently in Australia in 1970. In 1978 her husband bought her an oil-paint set whilst they were living in Tasmania and she then embarked on a painting career, falling in love with the naïve art style.

She has exhibited throughout Australia, in Europe, Canada and America as well as providing illustrations for children’s books.

Her works have been included in a number of publications worldwide including the “World Encyclopaedia of Naïve Art”

For the past four years she has divided her time between Victoria and the Capricorn Coast before moving permanently to Kinka Beach in 2006.

Her painting style is very detailed, often amusing and has been described as “fine art naïve style”.
